I went to Bath.

About three weeks after being in London, a few of my housemates and I were sitting on the stairs on a Friday night. Suddenly, we came up with the idea to go to Bath the next morning. So, we did. We left for the train station around 7:30am; traveling the tube, exhausted, Meg, Josh, Stef, Lucy, Kameron and I.

We caught a train to Bath around 9am. There was engineering work being done on the last bit of the ride, so we took a bus from that trainstation to Bath.

So, finally we arrived in the beautiful town. The bus let us off and we walked through a massive square lined with shops; obviously the town square, where street performers were entertaining the tourists and townies.

I will write from London, but only after two months have passed.

I am lying on my bed in my Palace Court room - number eight. The headphones stuffed into my ears are singing Chris Thomas King and I am in the middle of a conversation with my sister about which part of Europe to explore together before we depart for home, Christmas Eve. It has been almost two months since I have seen home, and how odd it is. There has been a long period of time where I have worked so diligently to situate myself into this new, fantasy-like world, but all I really successfully did was become caught up in the many options I had in choosing who to become. That's what freedom does to the naive. But, now that I have gotten through the change, I am in the midst of exploring what I'd like to explore.

Apart from travel on the weekends, I have been seeing the sights, of course. Within the first two weeks here, I was busy drowning in them; the London Eye, Museum of London, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's, Harrods, etc.
The Thames River Festival,
The Ben Lee concert at the 100 Club, Oxford Street;
Two nights ago, I saw Les Miserable here at Queens Theatre. Yes, I wept.
Tonight I am off to see Mary Poppins.

I have neglected to update anything on this site: laziness.

But, I have been keeping a journal of all my trips outside the UK

So here it is

and the beginning of potential updates
about London,
which is where I live until early December.

twelve days

In twelve days my months of not knowing how it'll feel to leave the country realizing I won't return for four months will be a reality.

Thus far, I have added necessities:

toiletries
towels
pillowcases

My parents are apprehensive now, more than earlier.
But, here I go.

My address is
11 Palace Court
London, N1 7TQ

I am right next to Hyde Park, to the west.

It takes a weekish to receive packages.
Keep in touch.

Two months: one grand to go.

London is coming soon. Thus far, the list for traveling across the pond is relatively short:

clothing (jeans more expensive in Europe)
pictures with frames
duvet cover
digital camera
laptop
backpack/laptop case
ipod
makeup (more expensive in UK)
3 grand

I plan to travel to Rome a few times and Termini, in Sicily, along with a trip to Paris, Spain, and a bit of exploring throughout the UK.

I predict the first we weeks will entail extensive shopping, so my drive for clothing is supressed in lue of that assumption. Also, saving money means more for entertainment and food. And I need both.

I will find out classes and a schedule soon. Orientation was in June; I missed the FYSAE for graduation, but am attending one on the 15th.

London soon.
